Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP25RD is a 25-foot, red Cat6 UTP patch cord designed for high-density network deployments. Its 28 AWG stranded copper construction and compact 0.150-inch diameter simplify cable management in racks and enclosures, while the tangle-free latch ensures secure connection and easy removal. This cord supports up to 10GBASE-T over limited distances and is rated for IEEE 802.3af/at/bt Type 3 & 4 PoE applications, delivering up to 90W of power. The integrated RapidID barcode facilitates quick asset tracking and network management.

Compatibility

This cable is engineered to exceed ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Category 6 and ISO 11801 Class E standards, ensuring compatibility with standard RJ45 network interfaces. It supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, 1000BASE-T, and 10GBASE-T Ethernet up to 55 meters (at 10 Gbps). It is also compatible with VoIP, digital video, and ATM applications. The wiring scheme supports both T568A and T568B configurations, making it suitable for a wide range of network infrastructure.

Installation Notes

The CM/LSZH jacket rating provides a balance of flame retardancy and low smoke generation, suitable for plenum or riser applications depending on local codes. The stranded 28 AWG conductors offer flexibility, but it is important to note that 28 AWG cable has limitations for 10GBASE-T at longer distances compared to 23 AWG or 24 AWG cable. The integrated pair manager and centered de-embedded plug design aid in maintaining performance and simplifying termination.
