Overview

The Panduit UTP28SP5OR is a 5-foot, 28 AWG stranded copper patch cord designed for structured cabling systems. Its compact diameter and tangle-free latch simplify installation in high-density environments, such as network closets or server racks, where efficient cable management is critical for airflow and accessibility. This cord supports high-speed data applications and Power over Ethernet (PoE) up to 802.3bt Class 4.

Compatibility

This Cat 6 patch cord is built to exceed ANSI/TIA-568.2-D Category 6 and ISO 11801 Class E standards. It supports applications including 1000BASE-T (Gigabit Ethernet), 100BASE-T (Fast Ethernet), 155 Mb/s to 1.2 Gb/s ATM, digital video, and VoIP systems. It is also rated to support IEEE 802.3af/802.3at PoE applications (up to 48 cables in a bundle) and IEEE 802.3bt Types 3 and 4 PoE applications (up to 24 cables in a bundle), ensuring compatibility with a wide range of network devices and PoE-enabled equipment.

Installation Notes

Constructed with a CM/LSZH (Communications Multipurpose/Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket, this cable is suitable for use in plenum spaces where fire safety ratings are required. The patented tangle-free latch on the modular plug prevents snagging during installation and removal, streamlining moves, adds, and changes. Pre-installed RapidID barcodes facilitate quick port mapping with compatible software.
