Description

Comnet PS-AMR5-24 24VDC DIN Rail Power Supply

Overview

The PS-AMR5-24 is a 24VDC, 100-watt DIN rail-mounted power supply rated for continuous operation from -40°C to +71°C with cold-start capability at -40°C. This addresses the core problem in remote surveillance and industrial edge deployments: standard power supplies fail or degrade in extreme temperature environments. The 4.2-amp output at 24VDC is sufficient for mid-to-heavy loads—typical IP cameras (10–15W each), edge-mounted switches, radios, or analog equipment requiring regulated 24VDC rail power. DIN rail mounting keeps integration tight in control cabinets and outdoor equipment enclosures.

Compatibility

The PS-AMR5-24 supplies 24VDC to any equipment in your surveillance or industrial system drawing up to 4.2A at that voltage. Common loads include analog pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera power, 24VDC solenoid strike gates in access control, PoE injector warm-up supplies, 24VDC LED lighting in equipment housings, and 24VDC radios in remote telemetry systems. Confirm your load's input voltage and current draw before ordering—this supply is 24VDC only, not 12VDC or other rails. Works in any cabinet, terminal block, or DIN-rail breakout system accepting ±10% tolerance on 24VDC nominal.

Installation Notes

The -40°C start-up spec is critical: this supply can energize safely in arctic or high-altitude cold environments without warm-up delay. Standard supplies often fail to regulate or deliver full current below -20°C. Confirm enclosure ventilation—100W dissipates approximately 10–15W heat; ensure cabinet airflow or passive cooling fins do not trap condensation around the unit in humid environments. DIN rail mounting is standard 35mm, top-hat profile. Wire input and output using appropriately gauged conductors for your regional code (typically 12 AWG or 10 AWG for 4.2A runs longer than 50 feet).
