Overview

The ACTi 2POE-SWC is a two-port PoE injector card designed to extend power delivery to IP cameras where your network infrastructure doesn't have built-in PoE capability. This is the accessory you deploy when you're retrofitting analog circuits or extending camera runs beyond the reach of a central PoE switch — the card sits inline between your network source and two camera drops, injecting power without requiring a dedicated power supply at each endpoint. Compact form factor makes it suitable for wall-mounted or in-cabinet installations.

Compatibility

The 2POE-SWC supports standard PoE-powered IP cameras that draw power via the RJ-45 connector. It is compatible with ACTi camera lines and integrates with any ONVIF-compliant IP camera system. Confirm your specific camera model's power draw (typically 5–13W for standard PoE) against the card's per-port capacity before deployment to avoid undersupply.

Installation Notes

Mount the card near your network source or distribution point to minimize run length to cameras. Use standard Cat5e or better Ethernet cabling between the card and each camera. Verify that your network source can supply sufficient current to the injector's input (typically a single PoE input feeding the card's two output ports). If cameras are located more than 100 meters from the card, check voltage drop across the extended run — excessive distance can degrade power delivery.
