Overview

The Altronix PACE1KT is a single-pair Ethernet and PoE extender kit designed to transmit IP data and power up to 1 kilometer (3280 ft) over standard UTP cable. This kit is essential for extending network reach beyond the typical 100-meter Ethernet limit, enabling the deployment of IP cameras, access control readers, or other network devices in large warehouses, campuses, or industrial sites where running new Cat5e/Cat6 cable is impractical or cost-prohibitive. The PACE1KT consists of a transmitter and a receiver unit, facilitating a point-to-point connection that maintains network integrity and delivers power to the remote device.

Compatibility

This kit is engineered for compatibility with any standard IP camera, access control device, or network appliance that supports 10/100 Ethernet and requires PoE (802.3af/at) power. It functions as a transparent network extension, meaning it does not require specific VMS or NVR compatibility beyond standard network connectivity. The system is designed to work with Altronix's own power distribution products for a complete end-to-end solution, but it is not limited to them.

Installation Notes

Installation requires connecting the PACE1KT transmitter to the network switch and the receiver to the remote IP device. Both units are powered by standard 24VDC or 28VAC power supplies (sold separately). The system utilizes a single twisted pair from the UTP cable for data and power transmission. Maximum distance is achieved with Category 5e or better cable. Ensure proper termination of the twisted pair to avoid signal degradation. The units are designed for rack or wall mounting.
