Altronix NETWAY1EV Concise Descriptor

Overview

The Altronix NETWAY1EV is a single-port, midspan Power over Ethernet (PoE) and PoE+ injector. It injects power onto a standard Ethernet cable, allowing you to power a single PoE-enabled network device like an IP camera or wireless access point using a non-PoE network switch. This unit is ideal for extending network reach and simplifying deployments where switch port power is unavailable or insufficient. The NETWAY1EV supports devices requiring up to 25W of power.

Compatibility

This injector is compatible with any standard IEEE 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE+ compliant network device. This includes a wide range of IP cameras, wireless access points, and other network endpoints that draw power over their Ethernet connection. It functions seamlessly with standard network switches that do not provide PoE output on their ports.

Installation Notes

Connect the non-PoE switch to the 'Data In' port of the NETWAY1EV. Connect the PoE-enabled device to the 'Data + Power Out' port. The unit draws power from a standard AC outlet via its included power adapter. Ensure the total power draw of the connected device does not exceed the 25W maximum output of the injector. Use appropriate gauge wiring for the distance between the injector and the powered device to minimize voltage drop.
