Overview
The Middle Atlantic EWR-16-22 is a 16-space open-frame wall mount rack designed for AV, security, and IT equipment in locations where floor space is unavailable — server closets, back-of-wall installs, and remote equipment rooms. The EWR-16-22 ships with a 22-inch overall depth (20 inches usable) and supports up to 150 lbs UL-rated load capacity, enough headroom for NVRs, patch panels, PoE switches, and associated hardware in a mid-density deployment. The 10-32 tapped rail system is the industry standard for rack-mount hardware — any EIA-310 compliant 1U or 2U device drops straight in without adapter cages. Black wrinkle powder coat finish blends into equipment room environments and resists light abrasion. TAA-compliant for government and federally funded projects.
Compatibility
The 10-32 rail standard makes the EWR-16-22 compatible with the full range of rack-mount network video recorders, PoE network switches, unmanaged patch panels, UPS units, and AV receivers sized for 1U–4U chassis. Middle Atlantic's own rack accessories — shelves, blanking panels, power strips, and cable management — are engineered to fit this rail spacing directly. At 20 inches of usable depth, shallow 1U switches and NVRs with rear-cable clearance requirements up to roughly 18 inches will fit without modification; deeper chassis (full 2U servers) should be measured against the usable 20-inch figure before ordering. The pivoting wall-mount design allows the rack to swing away from the wall for rear cable access — factor adequate clearance (at least 22 inches clear behind the swing arc) into your rough-in planning.
