Overview
The ATEN CS1316 is a 16-port KVM switch designed to consolidate control of multiple computers. It allows a single operator to manage up to 16 servers or workstations from one console station, reducing equipment clutter and simplifying operations in server racks or control rooms. The CS1316 supports both PS/2 and USB keyboard/mouse connections, and VGA video, making it compatible with a wide range of legacy and modern systems. Its cascade capability allows for expansion up to 256 computers, providing a scalable solution for growing IT infrastructures.
Compatibility
This KVM switch is designed for direct connection to computers featuring PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse interfaces, and a VGA video output. It is suitable for managing a variety of PC, server, and workstation hardware. The unit supports ATEN's 2-level cascading feature, allowing it to connect to other compatible KVM switches for increased port density, effectively managing up to 256 computers.
Installation Notes
Connect the console side (keyboard, mouse, monitor) to the front ports of the CS1316. Connect the computer-side cables (not included) from the rear ports of the switch to the corresponding PS/2, USB, and VGA ports on each of the 16 computers. Power the switch using the included power adapter. For cascading, connect the cascade port on one switch to the console port of another compatible switch.
