Overview
The ATEN KL1116VN is a 16-port, 1U rackmount KVM-over-IP switch with an integrated LCD console, built for data center and server room environments where both local and remote server access are required from a single 1U footprint. It supports one remote user and one local user simultaneously — eliminating the need for a separate crash cart while keeping full keyboard, video, and mouse control accessible over IP. Compatibility
The KL1116VN connects to servers and KVM targets via PS/2 or USB interfaces, covering the broad majority of rack-mounted server hardware in production today. It accepts both PS/2 and USB keyboard and mouse connections at the server port level, so legacy and modern targets can coexist on the same switch. Port selection is handled via OSD, hotkeys, or front-panel pushbuttons — no separate software client required for local switching. For larger deployments, the KL1116VN supports cascade expansion up to 256 servers total, making it suitable for environments that need to grow beyond the base 16-port count without replacing the head unit.
