Overview
The Hanwha HRX-835A is an 8-channel pentabrid DVR engineered to unify mixed-signal surveillance deployments. This versatile recorder accepts AHD (up to 8MP), TVI (up to 8MP), CVI (up to 5MP), CVBS analog, and IP cameras (up to 8MP) on a single platform—eliminating the need for separate hardware and enabling seamless migration from analog infrastructure to modern network-based systems. With support for up to 8 analog channels plus 10 network channels, the HRX-835A accommodates hybrid camera ecosystems without operational complexity.
The HRX-835A delivers flexible recording options across resolutions. Analog channels support 8MP at 8fps, 5MP at 12fps, 4MP at 15fps, 2MP at 30fps, 720p at 30fps, and 960H at 30fps per channel. Network cameras support up to 2MP resolution at 30fps per channel. Triple codec support—H.265, H.264, and MJPEG—ensures bandwidth-efficient recording while maintaining backward compatibility. Playback bandwidth reaches 32 Mbps with support for up to 10 simultaneous playback channels, enabling multi-user review without performance degradation.
The recorder features dual video outputs: 1x HDMI supporting 4K (3840x2160) down to 1280x720, and 1x VGA supporting up to 1920x1080. An additional spot monitor output enables dedicated display management for security operations. Eight analog camera inputs (1Vp-p, 75ohm BNC) accommodate traditional surveillance cameras, while 2 base network inputs expand to 10 channels total for IP camera integration. Coaxial control integration streamlines PTZ and camera command workflows.
The HRX-835A addresses a critical market need: many deployments require support for legacy analog infrastructure alongside modern IP cameras. Rather than deploying separate recorders, this pentabrid approach consolidates mixed-signal surveillance onto a single platform, reducing capital expenditure and operational overhead. The H.265 codec support delivers meaningful bandwidth savings—critical for organizations managing multiple sites or bandwidth-constrained networks.
The 80 Mbps recording bandwidth and up to 24TB storage capacity position this recorder for mid-to-large deployments requiring extended retention without frequent archive operations. This is an ideal fit for retail chains, enterprise campuses, and industrial facilities transitioning from analog to IP-based systems.
