Overview
The CTI-WFUSB-11AC is a dual-band USB wireless adapter designed to add 802.11ac WiFi connectivity to Android devices in surveillance deployments. This accessory solves the problem of installing monitoring tablets or portable devices on job sites or temporary surveillance posts where hardwired Ethernet is not practical. Dual-band operation (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) allows you to avoid congestion on crowded 2.4 GHz networks common in commercial environments — a real factor when deploying multiple monitoring devices across the same site.
Compatibility
The CTI-WFUSB-11AC is compatible with Android devices that support USB OTG (On-The-Go) and recognize generic 802.11ac wireless adapters. Confirm device compatibility before purchase, as Android versions and kernel support for third-party USB WiFi hardware vary. This adapter pairs with ACTi surveillance systems and third-party IP cameras accessible over WiFi networks. It does not add wireless capability to non-networked camera systems.
Installation Notes
Connect the adapter directly to the Android device's USB port via a USB-A-to-Micro-USB or USB-C adapter cable (cable not included — verify your device's connector type). Once plugged in, configure the wireless network settings in Android Settings > WiFi to detect and connect to available networks.
