ACTi CTI-WFMOD-11AC Dual Band Wi-Fi Module
Overview
The CTI-WFMOD-11AC is a wireless expansion module that adds dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity to ACTi 6086U+ Series interactive display panels. Deploy this when your panel installation cannot rely on hardwired Ethernet, or when you need to enable guest device connectivity without extending your primary network infrastructure. The module negotiates 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands automatically, selecting the less congested channel to minimize interference in crowded RF environments.
Compatibility
Designed exclusively for ACTi 6086U+ Series panels. Verify your panel model before ordering — this module does not support earlier 6086U generations or other ACTi product lines.
Wi-Fi Performance and Bands
The 11AC standard delivers up to 433.5 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, meaningful for streaming video or transferring large files from guest devices to the panel when used as a hotspot. The 2.4 GHz band provides backward compatibility and broader range for mobile devices that lack 5 GHz support. Auto-switching between bands reduces manual configuration overhead — the module chooses the best available channel based on real-time interference detection. Bluetooth 4.0 pairs one-to-one with tablets or smartphones for direct file transfer without routing through Wi-Fi.
Hotspot and Network Integration
When the panel connects to your primary network via this module, it can function as a public hotspot — devices like phones, tablets, and laptops detect and join it directly. This eliminates the need to share your main guest Wi-Fi credentials or add temporary accounts to your MDM system. Conference rooms and training spaces benefit from this setup, since attendees connect to the display's hotspot rather than your corporate SSID.
Installation Notes
Physical installation involves mounting the module to the ACTi 6086U+ panel via the provided interface — exact mounting hardware and torque specifications appear in the ACTi panel's technical documentation. No separate power supply is required; the module draws power from the panel itself. Position for optimal antenna clearance away from metal frames and electrical equipment to preserve signal strength.
