Overview
The Viking Electronics K-1200-IP is a SIP-based entry phone system built for apartment buildings, gated facilities, and commercial access points where a single device needs to handle call-out, door release, and credential-based entry without a separate access control panel. The K-1200-IP integrates a 12-button auto dialer, keypad entry, and Wiegand proximity card reader into one stainless steel unit — all powered over a single Cat5/6 run via PoE Class 2 (under 6.5W), which eliminates the need for local 110V power at the door. SIP 2.0 (RFC3261) compliance means it registers to any standards-based IP PBX or hosted VoIP platform without proprietary gateways. Audio codec support for G.711u, G.711a, and G.722 delivers wideband (HD) voice quality on compatible SIP infrastructure. The keypad stores up to 1,000 access codes; the Wiegand input handles 26-bit proximity cards for up to 1,000 enrolled credentials — either or both can operate simultaneously. Two SPDT relay contacts (2A each) provide dry-contact outputs to trigger door strikes, magnetic locks, or gate controllers directly. Compatibility
Registers as a standard SIP endpoint on any SIP 2.0 (RFC3261) compliant IP PBX or hosted UCaaS platform — tested compatible with Asterisk, FreePBX, and major hosted SIP trunking services. The 26-bit Wiegand input accepts credentials from any standard 26-bit proximity card reader or fob system, and the Wiegand output passes read data downstream to a separate access control panel if needed. Relay contacts interface directly with industry-standard electric door strikes and magnetic locks rated up to 2A. Network connectivity requires a PoE switch or injector supporting IEEE 802.3af — the unit draws under 6.5W (Class 2), so it will not strain budget PoE switches with conservative per-port budgets.
