The VE814A-ATA is the non-Ethernet variant of ATEN's VE814A HDMI-over-HDBaseT extender bundle, pairing a transmitter (VE814AT) and receiver (VE814AR) for installations where the Ethernet pass-through function of the standard VE814A is not needed. The kit carries 4K HDMI signals up to 100m over Cat 6a or ATEN's 2L-2910 Cat 6 cable — useful in boardrooms, digital signage runs, or AV-over-IP infrastructure where you want to push a clean 4K signal down a structured cabling plant without occupying a network drop. The MPN VE814A-ATA denotes the no-Ethernet build; if you need the RJ-45 pass-through active, order the VE814A instead.
Works with any HDMI source and display supporting up to 4096×2160 or 3840×2160. Resolution and distance are interdependent:
4K signaling supports 4:2:0 chroma at 60Hz or full 4:4:4 at 30Hz — match your display's capability before selecting cable type and run length. The single HDMI Type A Female output on the receiver connects directly to a display or switcher input. The RJ-45 port is physically present but non-functional on this variant — it carries no data; do not plan for Ethernet pass-through in your design.
The transmitter (VE814AT function) connects to the HDMI source with a maximum local cable run of 3m — keep the source device within arm's reach of the transmitter. DC power is supplied via a locking DC jack on the transmitter; verify the included supply matches your local voltage before commissioning. Humidity operating range is 0–80% RH non-condensing — not rated for outdoor or high-moisture environments. Firmware can be updated via the on-unit slide switch (ON/OFF position); consult the ve814a-user-manual-w.pdf (updated 2025-10-16) for the exact upgrade procedure before deploying in a managed AV environment.
