Description

ATEN KE6900AT USB DVI-I Single Display KVM over IP Transmitter

Overview

The KE6900AT is the transmitter half of ATEN's KVM over IP extender system — it sits at the source workstation, captures USB keyboard/mouse input and DVI-I video, and sends both over a standard IP network to a paired KE6900AR receiver. If you need to relocate a DVI-I workstation to a secure equipment room while keeping full interactive control at a remote console — up to 1920x1200 at 60Hz — this is the unit that handles the source side. Latency under 5ms keeps the experience transparent for operators. Audio and serial pass-through are built in, so you're not sourcing separate extenders for those signals. The on-unit slide switch handles mode selection: Auto, RS-232 Config/Access Control, or Local — useful during commissioning or when you need to override remote access from the equipment room side.

Compatibility

The KE6900AT pairs with the ATEN KE6900AR receiver as a point-to-point KVM over IP set. It also integrates into ATEN KE Series matrix deployments managed through the KE Management Software (KEMAS), supporting multi-user, multi-target switching in broadcast, control room, and secure operations environments. Source machines must present a DVI-I video output; DVI-D and HDMI sources require an appropriate adapter before the transmitter input. USB HID (keyboard and mouse) is the supported input class — USB storage or other device classes are not extended. Serial port pass-through supports RS-232 for serial console or access control integration on the source side.

Installation Notes

Mount type is rack; the unit fits standard 1U rack infrastructure at the source end. Humidity tolerance runs 0–95% RH non-condensing — suitable for typical equipment room environments but not uncontrolled outdoor or high-condensation spaces. Firmware is field-upgradeable; current release is v1.7.164 (2024-05-24). Per ATEN's notation, physical dimensions on rack-mount products are expressed LxWxH rather than the conventional WxDxH — confirm orientation before rack planning.
