The Ubiquiti USW-WAN is a 1U rack-mount network switch purpose-built for edge and WAN aggregation roles within UniFi infrastructure. It combines one 1GbE RJ45 management port with three 10GbE RJ45 ports supporting 10G/5G/2.5G/1G rates, delivering 20 Gbps switching capacity and 10 Gbps non-blocking throughput. Deploy this switch at the network perimeter where you need to separate management traffic (via the 1GbE port) from high-speed data aggregation (via three 10G ports). Dual internal AC/DC power supplies (36W total) provide active redundancy—if one power input fails, the other maintains operation. Input range is 100–240V AC, 50/60 Hz, eliminating regional voltage complications. SGCC steel enclosure and mounting hardware ensure durability in non-climate-controlled closets or outdoor cabinet environments. The USW-WAN is NDAA-compliant and certified by CE, FCC, IC, and Anatel, meeting procurement requirements for U.S. federal and regulated deployments.

Compatibility

This switch integrates with UniFi Network Version 9.1.120 and later. It pairs with Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machines, UniFi Cloud Keys, and on-premises UniFi Controllers managing distributed camera systems, wireless clusters, or multi-site network fabrics. The three 10G ports accept SFP+ modules (copper RJ45 or fiber DACs/transceivers), allowing flexible connectivity to upstream switches, storage arrays, or fiber backbone routes. The single 1GbE port handles management plane traffic and can connect directly to a UniFi controller or network operations center.

Installation Notes

Mount the USW-WAN in a standard 19-inch relay rack using the included SGCC steel brackets. No external power supply required—both AC inputs terminate inside the unit. Operating ambient temperature range is –5 to 40°C (23 to 104°F); humidity tolerance is 10–90% noncondensing. ESD protection: ±16 kV air discharge, ±10 kV contact. LED indicators show ethernet link status and system health. Manage the switch via Ethernet connection to a UniFi Controller; no serial console or out-of-band management required.
