Overview

The Ubiquiti USL-ENVIRONMENTAL (MPN: USL-ENVIRONMENTAL) is a compact, battery-powered environmental monitoring sensor designed for integration with UniFi Protect surveillance and facility management systems. Measuring 53 x 49 x 23.5 mm and weighing 47.8 grams, it deploys in spaces where wired power is unavailable or impractical—server rooms, warehouses, temporary installations, and distributed remote locations. The device transmits environmental data via proprietary SuperLink wireless protocol (915.6–927.6 MHz in North America; 865.1–869.5 MHz in EU), with a maximum range of 2 km and a maximum TX power of 14 dBm. All monitoring and configuration occurs through the UniFi Protect web application or iOS/Android mobile apps—no standalone interfaces required.

Compatibility

The USL-ENVIRONMENTAL integrates exclusively with UniFi Protect ecosystems. It communicates via SuperLink protocol and must pair with a compatible UniFi Protect controller or gateway supporting wireless sensor integration. Verify your UniFi Protect deployment includes SuperLink receiver capability before ordering. The sensor does not work with non-Ubiquiti systems or earlier UniFi Video platforms.

Installation Notes

Mount via three methods: adhesive strips, integrated magnet, or screw fasteners (hardware included with galvanized steel mount bracket). The polycarbonate enclosure rated IPX5 tolerates splash and light water spray but not full submersion—unsuitable for outdoor ceiling-mount or high-humidity sauna environments. Operating temperature range is -20°C to 40°C (-4°F to 104°F); operate within 10–90% noncondensing humidity. Power derives from a single CR123A 3V lithium battery with maximum consumption of 34.9mW, delivering up to 6 years of runtime. A 3.5 mm auxiliary jack accepts passive water-leak probe sensors. Factory reset button simplifies field pairing if the sensor loses connection. LED indicators (status and signal) provide local visual feedback; no power supply wiring or PoE dependency.
