Overview

The Ubiquiti US-48-500W is a 1U rackmount switch built for mid-to-large deployments where port density and PoE power budget matter equally. It delivers 48 Gigabit PoE+ ports (all 48 ports support PoE+) plus dual 1G SFP and dual 10G SFP+ uplink slots—the right architecture when you're powering dozens of devices (IP cameras, access points, VoIP phones) and need clean separation between access and core tiers. The 500W internal power supply means you can run roughly 40–48 PoE+ devices simultaneously depending on their actual draw. Operates across universal AC input (100–240V, 50/60 Hz), so placement in datacenter, telco closet, or remote-site cabinet is flexible. NDAA compliant.

Compatibility

Designed for UniFi network architecture running UniFi Network Controller version 6.3.51 or later. Integrates with all standard UniFi management tools, firmware updates, and monitoring dashboards. The 48 RJ45 ports accept any PoE+ endpoint—Ubiquiti IP cameras (UVC series), UniFi access points (U6, U7 series), third-party 802.3af/PoE+ devices. The dual 10G SFP+ uplinks connect to 10G core switches or aggregation appliances without consuming downlink capacity. SFP+ ports also accept 1G SFP modules for backward compatibility.

Rackmount footprint: 485 × 374.6 × 43.7 mm (19.09 × 14.75 × 1.72 inches), 1U height. Supports standard 19-inch rack depths from 400–1200 mm. Mounting uses SGCC steel hardware. Operating temperature range −5 to 40°C (23 to 104°F) suits indoor and climate-controlled outdoor enclosures. Ambient humidity tolerance: 5–95% noncondensing. Requires Ethernet port for UniFi controller communication (typically via management VLAN). No special tools required beyond standard rack installation.
