Overview

The UNAS-PRO-4 is a compact 1U rack-mount NAS purpose-built for enterprise and mid-scale deployments requiring low-latency file storage and resilient 10 Gbps networking. It solves the problem of centralizing storage across distributed UniFi infrastructure without consuming multiple rack units or requiring external SAN complexity. The 4-bay chassis (supports 2.5/3.5-inch HDD or SSD) plus dual M.2 NVMe slots address the specific deployment scenario where you need both capacity and sub-millisecond cache acceleration for mixed workloads—file serving, surveillance archival, and real-time analytics ingestion on the same hardware.

Compatibility

Designed for integration with UniFi Cloud Gateway, UniFi Dream Machine, and broader UniFi OS ecosystems. Operates standalone via Ethernet management or as part of distributed edge storage for campus and branch-office infrastructure. The dual 10G SFP+ ports integrate directly into UniFi aggregation fabrics or standard data-center switch uplinks (requires compatible 10G switching). The single 1GbE management port (RJ45) supports out-of-band provisioning and can coexist with the SFP+ data path—allowing you to manage the appliance even when the 10G fabric is offline. RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 are supported via UniFi OS—no separate RAID controller required.

Installation Notes

Mounts to 4-post racks with square holes (9.5 × 9.5 mm) and depths from 600–1066 mm (23.6–42 inches). Draws 150W max via single universal AC input (100–240V AC, 3A max) or optional 11.5V DC RPS module for redundancy. Requires adequate rack ventilation; ambient operating range is −5 to 40°C (23 to 104°F), noncondensing. Max drive power budget is 125W—relevant when populating all four bays with high-spin 7200 RPM drives. NVMe SSD supports up to 4 TiB per slot; HDD bays accept mixed 2.5/3.5-inch form factors without adapter plates.
