Description

Middle Atlantic 432AL Triple Blanking Plate — Aluminum

Overview

The Middle Atlantic 432AL is an aluminum triple blanking plate designed to fill unused rack unit openings in standard 19-inch equipment racks. When you have open gaps in a rack enclosure — whether from a component swap, future expansion space, or mixed-height equipment — an unfilled opening disrupts airflow management, allowing hot exhaust air to recirculate into the intake zone and driving up component temperatures. The 432AL covers three rack units at once, reducing the number of plates required to seal a partially populated rack. TAA-compliant, it fits procurement requirements for federal and government-adjacent projects without additional sourcing steps. The aluminum finish matches Middle Atlantic's standard rack hardware aesthetic.

Compatibility

The 432AL is designed for standard 19-inch EIA-310 rack enclosures. It is compatible with Middle Atlantic rack systems including the RK, ERK, and BGR series rack enclosures, as well as any third-party 19-inch rack following the EIA-310 rail spacing standard. Verify your rack's usable RU count before ordering — the 432AL occupies exactly three rack units, so partial RU gaps require a different blanking plate size. For single or double RU coverage, reference the broader rack accessories lineup for matching blanking plate options within the Middle Atlantic family.

Installation Notes

Installation is tool-assisted with standard rack screws (not included — match to your rack rail thread: 10-32, 12-24, or M6 depending on enclosure). Seat the plate flush against both rails before tightening to prevent bowing across the span. For rack management best practice in high-density thermal environments, fill all unused RUs with blanking plates — a single open 1U gap can reduce cooling efficiency measurably in a sealed or bayed rack. The aluminum construction keeps the 432AL lightweight, which matters when managing overall rack load in floor-standing deployments. As a rack enclosure filler component, the 432AL ships flat and requires no configuration.
