The TL-SG105E is a compact, manageable network switch designed for small-to-medium security deployments and distributed network infrastructure. Five 10/100/1000Mbps RJ45 ports deliver full-duplex Gigabit connectivity across all interfaces, eliminating bottlenecks when aggregating traffic from IP cameras, wireless access points, NVRs, and access control systems on the same logical segment.
Unlike unmanaged switches, the TL-SG105E (often searched as TL SG105E) includes port-based and tag-based VLAN support and IGMP Snooping — critical for isolating camera traffic from administrative networks and preventing multicast flooding that can degrade VoIP and real-time video performance. QoS (Quality of Service) prioritization lets you guarantee bandwidth to surveillance streams even under load, a practical necessity when wired infrastructure carries both security and business traffic.
Install the TL-SG105E as a managed edge switch in compact cabinet deployments, network closets, or distributed recording sites where space constraints rule out full-sized chassis switches. It pairs with any standard IP camera, NVR, or network device using Ethernet. The desktop form factor and low power draw suit remote branch locations and outdoor shelter installations feeding PoE injector banks or powered switch uplinks.
Select the TL-SG105E when you need manageable switching in a footprint smaller than a standard 1U rack unit and require VLAN/QoS controls without the complexity of enterprise-grade CLI administration. It is not suitable for high-port-density consolidation or high-speed fiber uplink requirements; consider larger managed models in the TP-Link lineup for those scenarios.
