Overview

The TL-SG1016 is a 16-port Gigabit unmanaged switch in a 1U rackmount chassis. All 16 ports deliver 10/100/1000 Mbps throughput — sufficient for simultaneous IP camera streams, wireless backhaul, and access control traffic without requiring VLAN configuration or managed switching overhead. This is the right choice when you need straightforward plug-and-play operation: power on, plug in cameras or readers, and forward traffic immediately. The 1U form factor fits into standard 19-inch racks in distributed camera nodes, remote facilities, or compact equipment rooms where space is tight and configuration overhead is unwanted.

Compatibility

The TL-SG1016 integrates into any IP-based system using standard Ethernet: Axis, Hikvision, Hanwha, Uniview, Dahua camera lines; access control platforms with Ethernet-connected readers and controllers; IP intercoms and door controllers. It passes traffic transparently — no vendor lock-in, no software dependencies. RJ-45 cabling must comply with Cat5e or Cat6 specifications for Gigabit performance over distances up to 100 meters per IEEE 802.3ab standard.

Installation Notes

Power consumption is minimal (approximately 5–7 watts), reducing infrastructure load in remote or solar-powered sites. The switch ships with standard rackmount hardware ready for 19-inch rack installation. No PoE power delivery is built into this unmanaged model — if your cameras or readers require PoE, deploy external PoE injectors or a separate PoE-enabled access layer upstream.
