Overview
The TL-PA7017 KIT is a two-unit HomePlug AV2 powerline adapter set that carries gigabit Ethernet across your building's existing electrical wiring — no new cables, no drilling required. Deploy this when distance or structural barriers make a traditional WiFi or Ethernet run impractical: run one adapter at your router, plug the second unit into any outlet within the same electrical circuit, and bridge them with a single Ethernet port on each. Speed maxes at 1000 Mbps under ideal conditions, adequate for 4K video playback and multi-device streaming without saturating bandwidth.
Compatibility
The TL-PA7017 KIT works with any standard Ethernet device — game consoles, smart TVs, set-top boxes, computers, and networked appliances. It is a standalone powerline system; if you deploy additional powerline units in your home or office, they must share the same electrical circuit and HomePlug AV2 standard. The kit pairs via button press and does not require a separate app or complex configuration beyond standard wall outlets.
Installation Notes
Each adapter draws power directly from the wall outlet and occupies one socket. The compact form factor prevents blocking adjacent outlets on standard US duplex receptacles. Maximum effective range is 300 meters across the electrical circuit; beyond that distance or on different building sub-panels, performance degrades sharply — verify your target outlet is on the same main breaker or distribution panel as your router-side adapter. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F); do not install in unheated garages or damp locations. Avoid using extension cords or power strips — plug directly into wall outlets for rated performance.
