Description

Middle Atlantic PDT-2020C-M-NS Vertical 20-Outlet 20A Rack PDU with Local Amp Meter

Overview

The Middle Atlantic PDT-2020C-M-NS is a thin vertical rack power distribution unit built for high-density equipment bays where horizontal space is at a premium. At 72.75 in. tall and just 3.09 in. wide, it mounts vertically inside a standard rack column — keeping all 20 NEMA 5-20R outlets accessible without consuming any horizontal rack units. The integrated local amp meter gives you a real-time current draw readout at the rack face, so you can verify load before adding equipment and catch overloads before the 20A circuit breaker trips. The 12 AWG, 9 ft. input cord (NEMA 5-20P plug) reaches most in-row or overhead 20A circuits without an extension. If you're building out rack infrastructure for NVR systems, network switches, or server gear running on a single 20A branch circuit, this PDU gives you the outlet density and local monitoring to manage that circuit confidently.

Compatibility

Sized for standard Middle Atlantic two-post and four-post open-frame racks as well as any EIA-310 compliant enclosure with a vertical PDU mounting channel. The 72.75 in. length fits most full-height 42U–45U rack enclosures. The NEMA 5-20R outlets accept standard NEMA 5-15P and NEMA 5-20P plugs, covering the majority of 1U servers, network video recorders, PoE switches, and AV/security gear with standard North American power cords. Requires a dedicated 20A, 120V branch circuit terminated in a NEMA 5-20R receptacle or appropriately rated panel tap — do not connect to a standard 15A circuit.

Installation Notes

Mount vertically inside the rack column using the PDU's integrated mounting brackets — confirm your rack's vertical PDU channel spacing accepts the 2.13 in. depth profile before ordering. The 9 ft. cord routes to the nearest 20A circuit; plan cable management before final install. Monitor load via the front-face amp meter and keep continuous draw below 16A (80% of the 20A rating) per NEC derate guidelines — the 20A breaker provides fault protection but does not enforce the 80% continuous-load rule.
