The AT-MMC200/ST-960 is a standalone media and rate converter that bridges 10/100Base-TX copper infrastructure to 100Base-FX multimode fiber using an ST connector interface. This specific variant ships with a multi-region power supply unit, making it suitable for international deployments or mixed-voltage environments where a single adapter must work across AC input standards. The TAA-compliant designation means it qualifies for U.S. federal procurement under the Trade Agreements Act — relevant for government facilities, military installations, and federally funded network projects that require TAA-conformant hardware sourcing.
The device addresses a common network edge problem: extending copper-based 10/100 segments over fiber runs where distance, EMI immunity, or physical plant separation makes copper impractical. By converting to 100Base-FX on the fiber side, the AT-MMC200/ST-960 decouples the copper endpoint from the fiber backbone without requiring a managed switch at that location.
The AT-MMC200/ST-960 connects any 10/100Base-TX device — IP cameras, access control panels, VoIP endpoints, or workstations — to a 100Base-FX multimode fiber segment terminated with ST connectors. The fiber side requires 50/125µm or 62.5/125µm multimode fiber cabling with ST terminations; LC or SC fiber runs are not compatible with this unit. On the copper side, a standard RJ-45 patch cable connects to any 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX NIC, switch port, or PoE injector output. Pair with Allied Telesis Allied Telesis network infrastructure switches or any standards-compliant media converter chassis that supports 100Base-FX fiber uplinks.
The multi-region PSU bundled with the /960 variant accepts a range of AC input voltages — confirm the input voltage spec against your local supply before deployment. ST connectors require a half-twist bayonet lock; verify fiber ends are clean and properly seated before powering on, as dirty ST connectors are the leading cause of marginal link performance on multimode runs. This unit operates as a standalone converter and does not require software configuration — link establishment is automatic on both interfaces.
