The AT-MMC200/SC-960 is a compact media and rate converter from Allied Telesis that bridges copper 10/100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX multimode fiber over an SC connector interface. It ships with a multi-region power supply unit, making it a practical choice for deployments spanning multiple countries or mixed-voltage facilities. If you're extending network segments beyond the 100-meter copper limit — connecting an IP camera, access control panel, or network switch across a building run — this converter handles the translation without requiring a managed switch at each endpoint. The AT-MMC200/SC-960 is the right tool when your fiber plant uses multimode SC-terminated cable and your edge device speaks standard Fast Ethernet.
Designed for use with any device presenting a standard 10/100BASE-TX (RJ-45) interface — including IP cameras, PoE-capable edge switches, access control readers, and intercoms. The fiber side terminates to multimode SC fiber (62.5/125µm or 50/125µm), compatible with standard SC-duplex patch panels and fiber pigtails. Pair with Allied Telesis fiber-capable network switches or media converter chassis where centralized management is needed. Not compatible with single-mode fiber runs or LC/ST/FC-terminated fiber without an appropriate adapter or different converter model — verify your fiber plant's connector type before ordering.
The included multi-region PSU accommodates varied input voltages, eliminating the need to source a country-specific power adapter. Install the converter at the copper-to-fiber transition point — typically at the edge device end or the IDF/MDF. SC fiber connectors must be clean and fully seated; use a fiber cleaning kit before mating to avoid insertion loss that degrades link stability. For structured cabling installations, verify multimode fiber segment length is within 100BASE-FX limits (up to 2km on 62.5/125µm) before commissioning the run.
