Overview

The SS2527EV-EN is a push button station with integrated mechanical shield, engineered for emergency egress and access control applications on 30VDC magnetic lock systems. It solves the deployment problem of protecting control hardware in high-traffic or vandal-prone environments while maintaining tactile, reliable button operation. Use this unit when you need to mount a push-to-exit or request-to-exit station on a standard door frame without exposing the mechanism to impact or intentional damage.

Compatibility

The SS2527EV-EN operates with 30VDC magnetic lock strike systems, including door access control circuits using standard electromagnetic locks and monitored exit devices. It integrates into typical access control wiring schemes and is compatible with building management systems that provide 24–30VDC control voltage. Mounting hardware accommodates standard door frame installations using 3/16-inch diameter holes. Surface or flush mounting options are available depending on frame depth and application requirements.

Installation Notes

The unit ships with a 12mm worldwide mounting plate/spacer (KIT-102720) as standard. For surface mounting, KIT-71100A may be required depending on the specific button type and frame configuration. Installation depth is approximately 1.25 inches when anchors are not used. NEMA Type 23 enclosure rating applies to this mounted configuration. Drill mounting holes to the specified 3/16-inch diameter and secure using provided fasteners. Verify 30VDC supply polarity and circuit continuity before final commissioning. The integrated shield is load-bearing and provides mechanical protection but does not alter electrical switching performance.
