Overview

The SS2401EM-EN is a push button control station with turn-to-reset action, designed to provide manual operator control and emergency release for 30VDC electromagnetic lock strike systems. Deploy this where access control doors require a dedicated panic or override button at the point of egress—retail exits, server room gates, secure storage access points. The turn-to-reset mechanism ensures the button returns to neutral after activation, preventing accidental re-engagement. NEMA Type 23 enclosure rating protects the switch from dust and light corrosion in indoor commercial environments.

Compatibility

The SS2401EM-EN integrates with any 30VDC electromagnetic strike or magnetic lock system. It is compatible with standard access control door release circuits and works as a standalone manual release device or as a supplementary control alongside electronic access control panels. The button is field-installable into existing electromagnetic lock wiring via standard 24–30VDC circuits.

Installation Notes

Surface mount and flush mount options are available via optional mounting kits (KIT-71100A for surface mount with extended depth, or KIT-102720 for flush mount). The standard mounting plate and 12 mm spacer ship with the unit. Drill two 3/16 inch diameter holes for fastening. The enclosure provides 1.25 inch depth when anchors are not used—verify clearance behind the mounting surface. 30VDC wiring connects directly to the strike circuit; no separate power supply is required if your access control system already delivers 30VDC to the strike. Consult the door frame and strike manufacturer for any additional mechanical constraints, particularly if retrofitting to an existing installation.
