Description

STI STI-1150CR Stopper II Flush Mount Horn

Overview

The STI STI-1150CR is a flush-mount protective cover with integrated piezo horn for manual fire pull stations. It combines a clear, tamperproof polycarbonate shield with an audible alarm function — stopping false alarms without blocking legitimate emergency activation. Operating on 9VDC (alkaline battery included on standard models), this device mounts directly over existing pull stations in both indoor and outdoor environments. UL listed for U.S. and Canadian safety standards, it is rated to -40°F to 250°F, making it suitable for schools, hospitals, hotels, retail spaces, and public buildings where false-alarm prevention is critical.

Compatibility

The STI-1150CR works with most standard manual fire pull stations and integrates into access control and alarm signaling systems requiring combined electronic notification and physical tamper protection. If covering a pull station outdoors, UL requires the pull station itself to be listed for outdoor use. Larger or surface-mounted pull stations can be accommodated with the optional STI-3100 conduit spacer. The unit is ADA design compliant.

Installation Notes

Power is supplied by a 9VDC alkaline battery included with standard models; remote-powered variants are available. Weather models feature closed-cell gaskets for sealed protection. Polycarbonate is rated for typical working conditions of -40° to 250°F (-40° to 121°C). When installing outdoors, ensure the underlying pull station is UL listed for external use. The three-year warranty covers polycarbonate breakage in normal use; electromechanical and electronic components carry a one-year warranty.
