The STI-8100 is a polycarbonate flush mount strike designed to protect existing smoke detectors and door hardware from vandalism and damage in commercial security installations. The clear polycarbonate construction maintains visibility of the protected component while blocking access — slots are engineered too small for even a pencil to pass through. Install this where severe vandalism is occurring or anticipated on detector mounting surfaces or strike hardware in access control door frames.

Compatibility

The STI-8100 fits existing smoke detector installations in flush or surface mount configurations with exposed conduit. Compatible with standard door frame applications where strike protection is required. An optional STI-8170 backplate is available for unstable mounting surfaces to ensure suitable protection and load distribution.

Installation Notes

The STI-8100 mounts directly over existing smoke detectors or strike hardware with minimal footprint. STI recommends the STI-8170 backplate for installations on fragile or uneven mounting surfaces to prevent flex and ensure durability. The clear design allows visual inspection without removal, simplifying maintenance and service checks on protected detectors.
