STI STI-CI Integral Cover Lock/Strike
Overview
The STI-CI is a 9VDC integral lock/strike component used with STI Stopper II protective covers to secure the polycarbonate cover over fire alarm call points and other wall-mounted devices. It fits into the Stopper II frame assembly, adding electronic locking control to a cover that otherwise relies on a lift-to-access mechanism with an integral sounder. On sites where uncontrolled access to a break-glass call point or protected device is a liability — building lobbies, stairwells, and public corridors — the STI-CI lets facilities staff restrict who can lift the cover without removing the tamper and false-alarm protection the Stopper II already provides.
Compatibility
The STI-CI is built for the STI Stopper II product line, including the STI-1200, STI-1230, STI-1100, and STI-1130 frame variants used for indoor and standard-duty installations. It is not documented for the Weather Stopper II (STI-1250/STI-3150) assemblies, which use a gasketed frame and separate hardware set for weather-exposed devices — confirm frame series before ordering to avoid a mismatched fit.
Installation Notes
Stopper II frames mount centrally over the protected device using four fixing screws, with 7mm masonry drill bit holes for wall fixings on masonry surfaces. The STI-CI operates on 9VDC, so plan a low-voltage power run to the frame location during rough-in rather than retrofitting after the cover is mounted — pulling wire through a finished wall for a component this size is the most common install headache. Confirm cable entry point and gasket routing before drilling, since the frame position is fixed once the four holes are set.
