STI EP121007-T Polycarbonate Access Control Enclosure
Overview
The EP121007-T is a TCP/IP-enabled access control enclosure built from injection-molded polycarbonate (RAL 7035) rated for up to 7 doors. This is the controller housing itself — not a standalone system, but the enclosure that holds your networked access control logic and reader interfaces. It solves the problem of protecting compact controller hardware in facilities where metal enclosures create RF interference or where corrosion-prone environments demand non-conductive construction. Deploy this where you need a lockable, networked controller box that integrates into distributed access systems spanning office suites, retail chains, or multi-tenant properties.
Compatibility
The EP121007-T works with TCP/IP-based access control platforms and controllers that fit within a polycarbonate enclosure form factor. Specific compatible controller models and reader interface cards depend on your VMS or access management system — confirm physical dimensions and connector alignment with your integrator before ordering. The 7-door capacity accommodates reader pairs (card/PIN, card/biometric, etc.) for up to seven controlled entry points.
Installation Notes
Polycarbonate enclosures require careful conduit preparation to maintain structural integrity and prevent stress cracking. Cut conduit holes using a Greenlee Cutter from the inside, punching outward — this prevents sharp edges that stress the enclosure walls. Hub hole sizes range from 7/8" (for ½" conduit) to 4 1/8" (for 3½" conduit). For metallic conduit, secure the hub, attach the locknut, and bond grounding bushings to the equipment ground per Canadian Electrical Code requirements. Non-metallic conduit does not require a grounding bushing but must be aligned to prevent unnecessary enclosure stress. Sound output is rated at 44dB(A) — typical for enclosed controller cooling or relay activity. UL/cUL certified (reference 6 EP242410-O) for North American electrical safety compliance.
