STI EP201608-O EnviroArmour Polycarbonate Controller Housing
Overview
The EP201608-O is an injection-molded polycarbonate enclosure designed to house access control electronics in multi-door deployments. This housing solves the problem of protecting controller logic and power distribution in weatherproof, impact-resistant form — critical when your access control cabinet must survive dock areas, outdoor utility corridors, or facilities with high foot traffic. The 7-door capacity translates to a single compact unit managing multiple entry points without requiring separate controller shelving or distributed logic boxes. RAL 7035 light gray finish blends into standard building infrastructure while maintaining discrete security presence.
Compatibility
The EP201608-O houses TCP/IP-enabled access control logic for multi-door systems. It accommodates conduit entry through configurable hub openings (½", ¾", 1", 1¼", 1½", 2" diameter holes) and includes provisions for grounding bushing attachment per Canadian Electrical Code and NEC standards. The enclosure is designed for installations requiring metallic or non-metallic conduit termination and supports device mounting plates for internal controller cards and power distribution modules. Compatible with access control reader connections (badge, PIN, biometric) through the conduit infrastructure — the housing itself is reader-agnostic and acts as the protective envelope for whatever active electronics your system specifies.
Installation Notes
Conduit hole sizing follows a Greenlee-style punch procedure: place the punch on the inside of the enclosure and drive through to the outside to prevent cracking. Metallic conduit requires a grounding bushing bonded to an equipment grounding terminal; non-metallic conduit does not require grounding but must be carefully aligned to prevent unnecessary stress on polycarbonate walls. Grounding wire attachment uses standard lugs sized to match connector locknuts. UL/cUL certification (6 EP242410-O) confirms compliance with commercial enclosure standards. Sound output is rated 44dB(A) — typical for audible feedback devices integrated into the housing.
