STI EP080605-O EnviroArmour Polycarbonate Controller
Overview
The EP080605-O is a hardened polycarbonate access control controller designed for multi-door installations in environments where chemical exposure, moisture, or vibration would compromise traditional metal enclosures. Injection-molded polycarbonate construction (RAL 7035 finish) resists corrosion, impact, and UV degradation — typical on loading docks, outdoor security vestibules, and wet-location entry points. Supports up to 7 doors per controller unit via TCP/IP networking, scaling horizontally across multiple controllers for larger multi-building deployments. Low acoustic footprint (44dB(A)) makes it suitable for noise-sensitive locations like hospitals or office atriums.
Compatibility
This controller integrates into TCP/IP-based access control systems requiring multi-door local control. It is compatible with standard network-based access platforms supporting modular controller expansion. Confirm TCP/IP protocol and credential type alignment with your existing access management software before deployment. Scaling multiple EP080605-O units across separate network subnets is feasible; consult system documentation for bearer-channel and authentication requirements.
Installation Notes
Install using the conduit sizing table provided in the installation documentation: ½" conduit requires 7/8" hole; ¾" conduit requires 1 1/16" hole; 1" conduit requires 1 ¼" hole. For non-metallic enclosures, use a Greenlee cutter with the punch on the inside and drawing action toward the outside to prevent wall stress and preserve IP rating. Metallic conduit connectors require grounding bushings bonded to equipment grounding terminal per Canadian Electrical Code (or equivalent local code for non-Canadian installs). Non-metallic conduit does not require grounding bushings, but conduit alignment must prevent unnecessary stress on enclosure walls. Ground all conduit and metal components to prevent EMI and satisfy electrical code requirements. Verify environmental temperature and humidity limits against your installation site before commissioning.
