STI EP080805-O EnviroArmour Polycarbonate Controller
Overview
The EP080805-O is a 7-door TCP/IP networked access control controller built from injection-molded polycarbonate with RAL 7035 gray finish. This controller bridges multiple doors to a centralized management platform over standard Ethernet, eliminating the need for proprietary cabling and reducing integration overhead in commercial and industrial facilities. The polycarbonate enclosure delivers environmental durability without the weight or cost of metal cabinets, making it suitable for equipment rooms, electrical closets, and indoor wall-mount installations where corrosion or moisture exposure is moderate.
Compatibility
The EP080805-O integrates into access control systems requiring multi-door TCP/IP controllers. It is designed to work with distributed architectures using standard Ethernet connectivity and TCP/IP protocols. Confirm compatibility with your VMS or access control platform's controller API before deployment; this unit requires a networked infrastructure with power and Ethernet availability at the mounting location.
Installation Notes
Conduit entry follows standard non-metallic enclosure practices. The installation documentation provides conduit hole sizing (½" to 2" hubs with corresponding hole diameters from 7/8" to 2 3/8") and grounding requirements for both metallic and non-metallic conduit connections. Align conduit carefully to prevent unnecessary stress on enclosure walls. Ensure proper bonding between grounding bushings and equipment grounding terminals per local electrical code. Device mounting plate and ground wire anchoring are included in the internal structure; plan for 12–24 inches of clearance above the controller for terminal access and wiring termination. Acoustic output is 44dB(A) during operation — acceptable for utility rooms but consider acoustic isolation if the controller must operate in occupied spaces adjacent to the mounting location.
