The STI EF201610-O is an injection-molded polycarbonate credential reader built for access control deployments where environmental durability and network integration are non-negotiable. The EnviroArmour fiberglass construction in RAL 7035 gray provides weather resistance and chemical tolerance, making this reader suitable for outdoor vestibules, loading docks, and institutional facilities with moderate environmental exposure. TCP/IP network communication eliminates legacy serial wiring and integrates directly into modern access control platforms. The 7-door capacity allows you to reduce overall reader count in multi-entry installations, lowering both hardware cost and network provisioning overhead.
The EF201610-O supports credential readers across access control system architectures that accept TCP/IP networked devices. Confirm compatibility with your access control platform's reader interface specifications—this is a reader enclosure and mounting solution, not a controller or power supply. It interfaces with standard credential technologies (proximity, magnetic stripe, smart card) when paired with appropriate reader hardware inside the enclosure. Verify your system's network input/output pin configuration and protocol requirements before installation.
Conduit installation requires proper sizing based on hub type: ½-inch conduit uses 7/8-inch hole; ¾-inch uses 1 1/16-inch; 1-inch uses 1¼-inch; larger sizes scale accordingly. For metallic conduit, secure the connector (hub) to the conduit first, then lock into the prepared hole with the connector locknut, and attach grounding bushings with proper-size ground wire lugs over the locknut. For non-metallic conduit, secure the conduit to the hub either before or after the hub is locked into the hole—note that grounding bushings are not required for non-metallic installations. Align conduit carefully to prevent unnecessary stress on the polycarbonate enclosure walls; misalignment can compromise environmental sealing and enclosure integrity. Sound output is 44 dB(A), suitable for office and retail environments. UL/cUL certified under standard 6 EP242410-O.
