The STI EF161408-O is a fiberglass-housed credential reader built for access control installations where environmental durability and certified performance matter. Injection-molded polycarbonate construction with opaque RAL 7035 finish delivers environmental protection against weather exposure and operational stress. UL/cUL certification (EP242410-O) meets security and safety standards required in commercial and industrial deployments. The unit outputs 44dB(A) — audible feedback without excessive noise in office or facility environments. Rated for 7-door capacity, the EF161408-O integrates into networked access control systems where credential authentication and perimeter security are mandated.
The EF161408-O is designed for use with secure access control platforms and systems supporting TCP/IP communication. Works with standard credential authentication protocols in enterprise and facility-level access deployments. Integrates into existing security architectures where 7-door networked reader capacity is required. Consult your access control system documentation to confirm compatibility with your specific controller or management platform.
Non-metallic enclosure construction requires proper conduit and grounding procedures during installation. When cutting conduit holes, use appropriate sizing: ½" hub requires ⅞" hole; ¾" hub requires 1 1/16" hole; 1" hub requires 1 ¼" hole. For metallic conduit, secure the conduit connector (hub) and locknut, then attach grounding bushing with proper-size ground wire lug over the locknut. For non-metallic conduit, grounding bushing is not required — align conduit to prevent unnecessary stress on enclosure walls. Follow The Canadian Electrical Code requirements for grounding bonding. Ground wire must be properly routed to the device mounting plate and equipment grounding terminal per installation documentation.
