Overview
The Speco P4W5D is a 4-channel 12VDC regulated power distribution unit rated at 5A per channel output. This supply solves the wiring complexity of multi-camera installations by centralizing power distribution in a single 8" × 9.5" × 3.25" box, eliminating the need for four separate wall-mounted adapters. Each channel carries 1.6A PTC auto-reset fuses rated at 60V, protecting against overload and short-circuit conditions without requiring manual fuse replacement. UL listed and NDAA-compliant, it accepts standard 110VAC 50/60Hz input and distributes clean 12VDC output across four independent circuits with individual LED status indicators per channel.
Compatibility
The P4W5D works with analog CCTV cameras, low-power IP cameras without PoE capability, infrared illuminators, door locks, and other 12VDC auxiliary security equipment. Each 5A channel supports multiple cameras per line depending on individual camera draw; most analog surveillance cameras draw 300–600mA under normal operation, making this unit suitable for 4–8 cameras total depending on load distribution. Integrators commonly deploy this in retail, light industrial, and small commercial environments where centralized power simplifies cable management and reduces wall clutter compared to distributed plug-in supplies. DIN rail or wall surface mounting accommodates both cabinet and surface-mounted installations.
Installation Notes
Input accepts a standard 3-pin AC socket with built-in surge protection on the main power switch. Each channel is individually fused with 1.6A PTC auto-reset devices—no user-replaceable fuses required. Operating temperature range is 32°F to 104°F at 20–90% relative humidity; storage extends to −4°F to 140°F, supporting indoor and unheated utility installations. The 4.5 lbs weight and compact footprint allow rack or wall mounting without structural reinforcement. Verify that total DC load across all four channels does not exceed 20A combined (5A × 4 channels) to prevent nuisance trips of the PTC devices.
