Overview
The 2WAK2 is a complete two-way audio subsystem designed to integrate with compatible Speco DVRs equipped with the PVL15A amplifier module. It solves the installation problem of retrofitting real-time bidirectional communication into existing DVR deployments without requiring separate VoIP infrastructure or third-party audio servers. This kit is the right fit for entry/exit monitoring, loading dock supervision, or any fixed-camera location where an operator needs to speak directly to subjects in the camera's field of view—either from the DVR interface itself or through iOS/Android mobile apps. The 2WAK2 model number appears on the datasheet as the complete kit assembly.
Compatibility
The 2WAK2 works exclusively with Speco DVR models that feature the PVL15A amplifier as an integrated or plug-in module. If your DVR supports two-way audio and includes PVL15A designation in the documentation or spec sheet, this kit will integrate. Confirm your DVR's audio-capable status before purchasing—not all Speco DVR series include two-way audio support. The kit does not function as a standalone audio amplifier; it requires a compatible DVR with two-way audio firmware and routing logic already enabled.
Installation Notes
The 2WAK2 includes a wall-mount bracket with die-cast enclosure, mounting hardware, and connecting wire. The 4-inch speaker assembly supports transformer-based impedance selection (70/25V at 15W, 7.5W, 4W, 2W, 1W, and 8 Ohms)—set the transformer tap to match your DVR's audio output impedance specification to avoid under/over-driving the amplifier. The line-level microphone (CAMMIC) requires the included PSW5 power supply; route microphone and speaker cables separately from high-voltage or RF sources to minimize hum. The enclosure is rated for indoor wall mounting only; if mounting in a damp or dusty environment, verify local temperature and humidity limits with your DVR documentation.
