The motorized 2.8-12mm varifocal lens delivers remote zoom and focus control — you adjust coverage from the NVR or mobile app without climbing to the camera. Integrated IR illumination handles 24/7 operation across varying ambient light, making this camera suitable for perimeter monitoring, parking lots, and facility entrances where night visibility is non-negotiable. The bullet form factor is discrete and weatherproof, designed for mounting under eaves or on pole brackets where you need reliable, unattended surveillance.
Compatibility
The 05B2M integrates with any network video recorder (NVR) or video management system (VMS) that supports standard IP camera streams over Ethernet. ONVIF compliance ensures compatibility across major platforms including Milestone, Genetec, and Axis Camera Station, as well as Speco's own SecureGuard® Dashboard for cloud-based remote management and analytics. The camera streams H.264 and H.265 video, reducing storage demand when paired with NVRs that support H.265 encoding — a meaningful factor on 24/7 multi-camera deployments. Installation Notes
Mount the 05B2M on exterior walls, pole brackets, or under soffit overhangs using the supplied bracket. Ensure PoE+ power supply capacity; the camera draws power via standard 802.3at PoE. Cable entry is weatherproofed via gasketed connectors rated for direct rain exposure. Aim the varifocal lens toward the target area, then fine-tune zoom and focus from the VMS interface — no field adjustment required after initial mounting. Operating range is -40°C to 60°C, suitable for most North American climates; verify minimum illumination (typically 0.01 lux at F1.6) meets your night-vision requirements before final placement.
