Overview
The Viking Electronics E-10A-EWP is a telephone-line powered speaker phone with a call button and black aluminum faceplate, built for door entry applications at commercial and residential access points. The E-10A-EWP draws its operating power directly from the telephone line — requiring a minimum of 18VDC at 20mA — which eliminates the need for a separate power supply and simplifies rough-in wiring at gates, lobbies, and entry vestibules. Two mounting paths are supported: flush mount using the included rough-in box, or surface mount using the optional Viking Electronics VE-5x5 accessory, giving installers flexibility based on wall construction and finish requirements.

The E-10A-EWP is designed for use within the Viking E-Series door entry phone product family. It shares the same telephone-line power requirements and physical footprint (5″ × 5″ outer / 4″ × 4″ rough-in) as sibling models including the E-10A and E-10-WHA-EWP, making it a direct form-fit substitute in existing E-Series rough-in installations. Connects to standard analog telephone lines and POTS-based systems supporting two-way communication — compatible with analog intercom and paging systems that accept a standard telephone interface. The EWP (Enhanced Weather Protection) designation indicates suitability for covered outdoor or semi-exposed environments where additional protection against moisture ingress is required beyond the base E-10A configuration. For dedicated access control integration, pair with Viking call processors or door controllers that accept an analog telephone port.

Surface mount requires the separately purchased VE-5x5 adapter plate; confirm availability of that accessory before specifying flush-only rough-in on new construction.
