SDC LR100Y6K Motorized Electric Latch Retraction Kit
Overview
The LR100Y6K is a field-installable motorized electric latch retraction (ELR) kit from SDC Security Door Controls designed for Yale and compatible panic/fire-rated mechanical exit devices. On energization, the motor retracts the latch and pulls the pushpad into dogged (depressed) position, enabling momentary or sustained push-pull operation of the door without removing the exit device from the frame. This retrofit approach preserves the mechanical integrity of the panic bar while adding electronic control—a practical solution for high-traffic commercial corridors, secure facilities, and fire-rated egress points where access control integration is required after the device is already installed.
Compatibility
The LR100Y6K retrofit kit is compatible with panic and fire-rated mechanical exit devices from these brands: Adams Rite, Arrow, Cal Royal, Corbin Russwin, Design Hardware, Detex, Dorma, Dor-O-Matic, Falcon, First Choice, Hager, IDC, Jackson, Marks, Marshall Best, Pamex, PDQ, PHI, Sargent, SDC, Stanley K2, Tell, Townsteel, Von Duprin, and Yale. Installation is available for opening sizes of 36″, 36″–48″, 42″, and 48″ depending on the specific brand model. The kit houses completely within the rail of the device behind the access cover, so it integrates without altering the external appearance or operational feel of the panic bar. Activation is via access control systems, remote control devices, or building automation systems that supply the energize command.
Installation Notes
This is a field-install retrofit kit—no device removal required. Inrush current is 700 mA, which must be accounted for in your access control circuit design. The motorized approach draws significantly less current than traditional solenoid locks and operates more quietly with greater durability over high-cycle life. No door sequencer is required for manual egress, and the exit device always provides uninhibited egress regardless of system state, ensuring compliance with fire and life-safety codes. Verify your specific exit device brand and opening size against the compatible list before ordering.
