Description

SDC E6U Glass Door Mounting Kit Reader

Overview

The SDC E6U is a dual-credential proximity and keypad reader purpose-built for glass door access control systems. It combines 13.56 MHz NFC card technology with integrated PIN keypad entry, delivering flexible authentication options in a single form factor. The E6U mounts directly into SDC E600 glass door frames without retrofitting, making it the standard reader choice for high-traffic entries, secure zones, and installations requiring both card and PIN-based credentials. OSDP communication ensures protocol compliance with modern access control platforms.

Compatibility

The E6U integrates with SDC E600 glass door systems — the reader slots directly into the E600 frame mounting structure. Physical dimensions (2.5" × 1.25" × 7.25") align precisely with E600 cutouts. NFC credentials follow ISO 14443A/B standards, compatible with industry-standard proximity cards and mobile wallet implementations. Keypad PIN entry works with any OSDP-compliant access control panel supporting numeric credential input.

Installation Notes

Mount the E6U reader into the E600 glass door frame cutout — no drilling or frame modification needed. Secure with provided fasteners and ensure weathertight sealing around the reader housing. Wire keypad and proximity sensors to the access control panel OSDP interface per panel pinout documentation. Test NFC card read range (typical 4–6 inches) before final commissioning to confirm reader placement clears glass thickness variations.
