Description

SDC 500GL-KIT Glass Door Mounting Kit

Overview

The SDC 500GL-KIT is a mounting solution designed to install access control hardware directly onto glass doors without drilling or permanent structural modification. This kit supports 8–10 credential reader bars and includes adhesive for secure bonding to glass surfaces. It solves the installation constraint faced by integrators working in leased or retrofit environments where traditional through-door drilling is not an option or violates building codes.

Compatibility

This kit is compatible with SDC access control systems and deployments using standard credential reader hardware. Verify your specific reader model and bar count against the 8–10 bar capacity before ordering — oversized reader arrays or custom multi-reader stacks may require alternative mounting strategies.

Installation Notes

Surface preparation is critical: clean the glass thoroughly with a degreaser and allow to dry completely before applying adhesive. Press the mounted bars firmly against the glass for full contact and follow the adhesive manufacturer's cure time before energizing the system (typically 24 hours). Do not install on tempered glass without confirming adhesive compatibility — some formulations can compromise edge integrity. Avoid direct sunlight on the adhesive joint during cure and position the kit away from high-traffic areas where repeated contact stress could weaken the bond.
