SDC TJ350 Single Top Jamb Mounting Kit
Overview
The TJ350 is a single top jamb mounting kit designed to position access control hardware at the door header instead of the strike location. This shifts controller placement when strike-mounted installations are impractical—typical in narrow frame conditions, retrofit scenarios, or multi-door corridors where header space is available but door edge real estate is constrained.
Compatibility
The TJ350 integrates with the SDC 350 series control hardware and operates via OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol), enabling supervised communication with third-party access control panels and VMS systems. Supports proximity readers and keypads operating on NFC/13.56MHz frequency bands, allowing flexibility in credential selection across mixed-technology deployments.
Installation Notes
Top jamb mounting requires vertical mounting space at the door header and clear line-of-sight between the reader/keypad and the 350-series controller. Wiring runs from the reader to the controller must navigate the door frame—plan conduit routing during rough-in to avoid pinch points and moisture exposure. OSDP communication carries encrypted, supervised traffic, so use shielded twisted-pair cabling where runs exceed 50 feet or pass near high-voltage equipment.
