The 484A4U is a momentary DPDT push plate actuator in a 4½-inch square form factor, built from 18-gauge stainless steel. It mounts recessed, surface-mounted in a standard box, or bollard-mounted, making it suitable for retrofit and new-build door control points where a hardwired, manual activation interface is required. The plate delivers 15 Amp @ 125/250 VAC switching capacity — sufficient for strike controllers, magnalocks, and auxiliary switching logic in most commercial access control installations.
The 484A4U integrates with any hardwired door control system that accepts dry-contact momentary switching. It is not tied to a specific control panel brand or protocol — it functions as a passive electrical interface. If your access control system accepts pushbutton or manual switch input, this plate provides the physical switching point. The datasheet indicates wireless-compatible variants are available in other SKUs (484O4U, 484B4U); confirm your specific model supports wireless if that is a deployment requirement.
Mount depth is 1½ inches — verify your surface box or recessed cavity accommodates this dimension. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion in both indoor and outdoor exposed mounting, though UV and salt spray over decades will show aging. Wiring is standard dry-contact — no polarity requirement. The DPDT contact configuration (double-pole, double-throw) allows simultaneous switching of two independent circuits if your application requires locking and unlocking or dual-strike control. No batteries, no wireless hardware, no network connection — hardwired reliability only.
