The SDC 482A6RU is a 6-inch round stainless steel push plate switch rated for 2 Amp @ 28 VDC resistive load — a straightforward momentary contact actuator for door strike control in access control installations. Faceplate is 18-gauge stainless steel; contacts close when pressed and open when released. Mount recessed into a wall box, surface-mount in a standard box, or install on a bollard. At 28VDC and SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) configuration, it integrates with any standard door control module that accepts low-voltage momentary switching.
The 482A6RU is a generic push plate switch — it does not communicate. Instead, it wires directly to the momentary input terminals on any access control controller, electric strike module, or door lock release that expects a dry contact closure at 28VDC. Compatible with SDC door strikes, mag locks, and third-party control modules rated for 2A @ 28VDC resistive switching. The SPDT contact allows both normally-open and normally-closed wiring configurations, so you can trigger a strike on press or latch release on press depending on your module's input design.
Mounting depth is 7/8 inch into wall cavity (recessed box) or surface enclosure. Wire the SPDT common terminal and either NO (normally-open) or NC (normally-closed) contact to your control module's momentary input. Verify your control module accepts 28VDC input and can handle the button's 2A peak switching current — most modern modules do, but older systems or wireless locks may require a relay buffer. Test contact closure with a multimeter before sealing the wall box.
