SDC 400NU-SN Narrow Siren Alarm Station
Overview
The SDC 400NU-SN is a narrow-frame wall-mounted siren alarm station that delivers audible notification when integrated with door access control or relay logic systems. At 90 dB output on 24VDC, it functions as a standalone alert device for unauthorized door openings, unlock events, or alarm conditions — solving the deployment problem of needing visible-and-audible confirmation in installations where remote monitoring alone is insufficient. The stainless steel faceplate (630 dull finish) and compact 1¾" × 4½" footprint fit standard narrow-profile mounting locations alongside credential readers or in tight wall-space scenarios common in institutional and commercial corridors.
Compatibility
The 400NU-SN connects via relay logic to access control systems using dry-contact signaling — it is not itself a controller but an output annunciator. It pairs with any access control platform (SDC, HID-compatible, or third-party) that outputs a relay signal on door-open or system-alarm conditions. Quick-connect tabs on the device eliminate the need for soldered connections, speeding integration into existing wiring runs. Operates on 12VDC or 24VDC ± 10% input, making it compatible with standard access control and alarm system power supplies. Does not require network connectivity or protocol support — it responds to basic electrical relay closure.
Installation Notes
Current draw is minimal at 18 mA @ 24VDC, so it will not stress typical access control power supplies. The narrow mounting footprint (1¾" wide) allows installation in vertical mullion spaces or beside narrow-frame readers. Faceplate is field-replaceable stainless steel, supporting high-traffic or corrosive environments. Verify relay voltage at the access control output before wiring — confirm 12 or 24VDC availability on the signaling circuit. Connect the quick-connect tabs to the normally-open (NO) relay contacts; polarity is not critical for siren operation.
