Overview
The AP8832 is a 0U vertical rack-mount PDU from APC by Schneider Electric, delivering 30A of 120V power across 24 NEMA 5-20R outlets from a single NEMA 5-15P input. With a derated continuous load rating of 24A — the NEC 80% rule baked in — the AP8832 is sized for high-density security racks where you're running PoE switches, NVRs, and access control panels simultaneously without chasing tripped breakers. The 9.84-foot (3-meter) cord gives you enough reach from floor-mounted power strips to top-of-rack equipment without an extension run.
Compatibility
The AP8832 fits standard 19-inch two-post and four-post open-frame racks as well as enclosed cabinets that support 0U vertical PDU mounting. The 24 NEMA 5-20R receptacles accept NEMA 5-15P and NEMA 5-20P plugs, making it broadly compatible with network video recorders, managed PoE network switches, UPS bypass panels, and access control head-end equipment using standard North American 15A or 20A power cords. The NEMA 5-15P input plug connects to 100–120VAC circuits at 50–60Hz — confirm your facility circuit is rated for at least 30A before deploying at full outlet count.
Installation Notes
Mount vertically in the 0U space along the side rail of compatible APC NetShelter and similar open-frame or enclosed racks. Operating environment is rated for -5°C to 45°C with 5–95% relative humidity (non-condensing) and elevations up to 3,000 meters — suitable for most conditioned equipment rooms and IDF closets. The 179.1cm (70.5-inch) unit height spans nearly the full depth of a standard 42U cabinet side rail; verify clearance before ordering for shorter enclosures. Total outlet count of 24 supports dense multi-device deployments, but keep continuous load at or below the 24A derated limit to maintain safe operation.
