Overview
The 1550-900077G is a 59-inch RS232 serial cable bridging RJ45 Ethernet connectors to DB9 female serial ports. This cable integrates Unitech MS250 presentation scanners with host systems (PCs, terminals, PLC controllers) that retain RS232 communication ports. At 59 inches, the length spans the typical 4–5 feet from scanner to host without intermediate hubs or extenders—a critical advantage in checkout counters, warehouse receiving stations, or production lines where equipment layout is fixed and cable runs cannot be rerouted.
Compatibility
Designed for Unitech MS250 presentation scanners and compatible systems requiring RS232 serial input via RJ45 connector interface. Verify your host device has a DB9 female serial port before ordering—this cable does not include USB or Ethernet terminal adapters. If your host is modern (no serial port), a separate RS232-to-USB converter may be required downstream.
Installation Notes
Straight-through RJ45-to-DB9F pinout—do not cross-wire or substitute crossover Ethernet cables. Plug the RJ45 end into the scanner's Ethernet interface port and the DB9F connector into your host's serial input. No special tools, power supplies, or software drivers are required; RS232 is direct hardware connection. For stationary installations, secure the cable with cable ties or clips to avoid strain on connectors. Black jacket provides basic EMI shielding suitable for standard commercial environments; for noisy industrial settings with multiple high-current machines nearby, consider additional ferrite shielding on the serial end.
